What a wonderful place to go for wine tasting with a group of friends or an intimate family dinner with loved ones.
It is $25's a person for wine tasting and you get to taste 6 types of wine and try an additional 2 of one's you enjoyed again.
All of their food is Kosher and many travel long distances just to get a taste of their food and enjoy this experience.
This is a 5 star restaurant for a good reason!
Our family went to Herzog winery a couple of days after Christmas and enjoyed their tastings. We picked up a couple of bottles of their sparking wine that were so good. We enjoyed a couple of appetizers while hanging out. The server was very attentive and accommodating.
It's not the cheapest tasting experience, but it was worth it. Try it out when you're in the area
My friends and I visited Herzog Wine Cellars as a large group for a wine tasting and bar snacks. While we enjoyed the charcuterie board and fish and chips, which were the star of the night, the service was slow and the dishes took a long time to come out. The corn salad that accompanied the smoked ribs was delicious, but we found the ribs to be a bit lean on meat. The chips and guacamole were great, and it was a nice touch that the chips were served warm. The short rib and potato knish was tasty, although I wish there was more short rib inside the knish. The jus dipping sauce that came with it was a nice touch. Despite the slow service, the food was good overall. Next time, I'll skip the wine tasting and bar snacks and go straight to dinner service.
Love this winery!! Great wine, gorgeous tasting room, fantastic food and super friendly staff (they make you feel like family). Joined 2 of their wine clubs recently and came to the latest member pick up party. It was amazing!!! Such good food/wine pairings. And really great atmosphere.Oh, and make sure to go upstairs and do the tour, you can see their enormous barrel room, it's really cool. Can't believe this place is in Oxnard (Oxnard isn't exactly known as a wine town, haha).
Quite the experience going to #herzogwinecellars the #tierrasurrestaurant does not disappoint. For me the symbol of a good restaurant is their desserts. Most kosher restaurants buy their desserts. This place makes everything from scratch and it shows. Never thought I would like hibiscus ginger ice cream, but I stand corrected. Really enjoyed the pickled vegi tapa during the wine tasting, definitely added the palate cleansing acidity. They served some very yummy whites. Had some corvine reads that show promise. #kosherwinery #herzogwinery #oxnardcalifornia
One of the best kosher places to eat in.
The food is delicious, special, great atmosphere and a kind service. Wonderful place for celebration from any kind.
Let me tell you, the prices at this kosher restaurant were so high, I thought I was paying for my adult bar mitzvah! I mean, I get that kosher food is supposed to be a little more expensive, but this was just ridiculous. I'm not Jewish, but I am in the top 1% of Doja Cat listeners on Amazon music. With that being said, I have an extensive background in jewish customs/food.
I ordered the salad and soup for the first course. The salad had huge chunks of greens in them, while colorful, it had very little dressing. The girls at PJ's entertainment across the freeway had more dressing than this salad. They're also easier to toss than the big prehistoric greens served here.
The second and main courses were so small and average tasting. I had the veal meatball and the chicken. If this meatball is worth $40, my can of chef boyardi's ravioli can be too.
Usually when you order chicken at a fine restaurant, you get a half chicken or two chicken breasts. Not here. Here you get one breast. One breast, for $40. Again, PJs gives you two pairs for that price.
I left the restaurant feeling like I just dropped my ex off from a date - unsatisfied and ripped off.
As such, guess where I went afterwards for some real food? And by real food I mean tacos. That's right, PJ's entertainment!
The wine tasting was great! I am not much of a wine drinker, but you definitely get your moneys worth if you can power through the wines you dont like and finish them all. I would do this again. P.S. you get to keep the menu and pen as a keepsake.
